Happy Carolina Day! Did you know that Charleston, South Carolina, is one of only four cities--and only Southern city--in the U.S. officially designated as a lead showcase city for #America250 anniversary of the Declaration of Independence? (Boston, New York, and Philadelphia are the others!)

All across the city, celebrations are taking place now through Independence Day on July 4th!

Highlights include:

Signature Events: Festivities and living history demonstrations are taking place across the city such as the celebration of the Battle of Sullivan's Island on Saturday and Sunday, June 27 and 28. Revolutionary City: Downtown King Street transforms into a cultural experience with projection mapping, community art, and interactive museum programming.
Scavenger Hunt: The city has launched a mobile app scavenger hunt that sends users to key Revolutionary landmarks to win prizes.
Grand Finale: The celebration concludes over the Independence Day weekend with a massive fireworks display over the Charleston harbor.
